National 3 Peaks 24hr Challenge
The mountains of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent are collectively known as the Yorkshire Three Peaks. The peaks, which form part of the Pennine range, encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, North Yorkshire. The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a 24 mile (38.6km) round trip route, and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent. The Challenge is to complete the full route in under 12 hours.
